Have you ever wanted to be like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? Who are we kidding, of course, you have. The Rock was one of the biggest wrestling superstars of all time, and was the highest grossing International Box Office Star of 2013 and also 2015. During his days in WWE, The Rock was already a pretty big guy, but now he looks more like a boulder than a rock. So if you’ve ever wondered what he eats every day and how he trains, and if a regular guy like us will be able to do it, then here’s the answer.
Meet Mark Webster
Mark Webster is your regular guy. He’s just like any of us. He likes a cold beer during a hot summer afternoon just as much as the next guy.
But what sets him apart from everyone one of us, is that he’s the one that’s done The Rock Challenge.
Webster blogs about his weight loss and body hacking journey in his website, rockingfor30days.com. In his blog, he wrote:
In mid-2015, when I had read about The Rock’s eating and training schedule, I was in awe. Here is a guy who has a packed schedule and works intensely hard. Yet he maintains the discipline to make the time to stick to this program.
7 Meals A Day
We, regular people, eat 3 times a day, plus snacks, but someone like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson eats 7 times a day. And he doesn’t just eat any type of food, he follows a specific diet plan that is specifically designed for him to maintain his colossal body, and even improve it.
Update: Johnson now tells the media that he stopped eating cod altogether as it turns out he’s been consuming twice the dietary allowance for mercury and the fact that cod stocks are in danger.
So if you’re going to try this, you’ll have to eat every 2-3 hours, and eating just a single meal takes about 20 to 30 minutes. So that’s about 3 hours a day just eating and an hour and a half just preparing the meals.
Okay, if you’re planning to eat just like The Rock, we hope that you’re loaded just like The Rock. Eating like the big man is pretty expensive. Mark spent a total of $1,262 on food for the 30 days, which was about $42 a day ($18 on cod every day).
5,000 Calories A Day
The Rock eats 7 meals per day, and throughout his whole day, he eats a total of 5,000 calories. The total calories a normal guy consumes in a day is about 2,400 to 3,000. So that’s a lot more than your average guy, so you might be starting to have an idea how he got so big.
Training 6 Days A Week
Eating that many calories every single day will make you fat real quick, so in order to offset the calories, Mark trains just like The Rock. He does his own version of the training routine for Hercules, and he also does an hour of cardio and 90 minutes of weight lifting every single day. He may not be able to lift as much as The Rock, but Mark can work as hard as him. That takes a lot of dedication.
After the Challenge
After the 30 days, Mark’s weight didn’t move as much as one would think. But don’t worry, it wasn’t wasted effort, because even if he didn’t gain or lose a lot of weight, Mark gained a lot of muscle mass, and his overall strength has improved a lot. What’s more is that before he decided to do the challenge, Mark says that he experiences a lot of aches and pains throughout his body even thought he was just 37 years old. So after doing the challenge, he says that he feels a lot better and that even his resting heartbeat has dropped by four beats per minute.
The Rock’s Feedback
Tip my hat to this guy. “Didn’t do this to look like The Rock, but wanted to see if I could work as hard as him” ✔️ https://t.co/qH6UX28V5R

At first, the big man was a little skeptical about the whole challenge and says that not just anyone can be able to pull that off because it takes a lot of hard work, and you should be half Samoan/half Black. But after the 30 days was up, Mark was able to show to everyone and to The Rock that he was able to do it, which impressed The Rock. Mark has earned the big guy’s respect, because it isn’t easy and also not cheap. So what do you think? Are you as tough as The Rock? Are you up for The Rock Challenge?
