No One Knew What This Boy’s Costume Was, But You’ll Cry When You Hear The Story

When girls try to come up with ideas for their Halloween costumes, they think of being one of the princesses of Disney (Cinderella, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, etc) or a Princess Diana, or a fairy, basically just anything dreamy while when boys try to whip up ideas for their Halloween costume, they mostly think about being Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Kylo, Darth Vader, a pirate or a zombie.

But this Halloween, we came across one whose choice of costume was unusual, till you get to know who he was dressed as. The rareness of his costume is probably why, according to his parents, he had a tough time in the selection of an outfit this year. “We walked out of two Halloween stores empty handed, he didn’t wanna be any of the characters,” Imgur user BScribbs wrote. Her son would eventually end up with a look that couldn’t have been perfect if you tried for the 31st of October, in fact, his costume choice was so perfect it had the internet in tears.

His mom wrote: “Sunday night, I just told him to pick his favorite hero, and I’d make the costume the next day. His eyes lit up, and he yelled ‘Dad!'”

His father who works long hours and rarely gets a day off was reportedly proud of his son’s choice of costume (who wouldn’t be?). BScribbs further wrote “He’s not a lawyer or a doctor He runs a kitchen in a restaurant and comes home greasy, stinky, and exhausted every night. He works really hard to take care of his family. But he’s damn proud of his son, and it was obvious when my son rang every doorbell and shouted ‘TRICK OR TREAT – I AM MY DAD!’ to strangers all night that he’s really proud of his dad too.” The bond that exists between this father and his son just goes to prove once again that not all superheroes wear capes.

Extensively quoting his mother, she had the following to say: “No one knew what my son was for Halloween and he didn’t care.” She continued “He had a hard time picking out a costume this year. We walked out of two Halloween stores empty-handed, and he didn’t wanna be any of the characters.” “Finally, Sunday night, I just told him to pick his FAVORITE HERO, and I’d make the costume the next day. His eyes lit up, and he yelled ‘Dad!”

She kept on going “His dad works long hours and rarely gets a day off. He runs a kitchen in a restaurant and comes home greasy, stinky, and exhausted every night. He works really hard to take care of his family.”

Finally, she concluded “But he’s damn proud of his son, and it was obvious when my son rang every doorbell and shouted “TRICK OR TREAT – I AM MY DAD!” to strangers all night that he’s really proud of his dad too.”

The post had various heartfelt comments, among them, are the following:

“Heart-touching, your husband is a great man and so is your son!” – thatgirlwithabook

”Now that is a kid with a good head on his shoulders. You have every right to be proud, the two of you had a hand in that.” – everythingtastesbetterwithcheese

“I hope my son loves and respects me in most phases of life” – ImgursLibertarian.

“Man. This is what I’ll always drive for if I ever have a kid. My dad was never there, and it was always rough trying to figure out who to be” – MrHaynies

We don’t have to wait for fathers’ day to show love and appreciation to our fathers, the little things such as this count and can go a long way. These comments just go to prove the magnitude of how impressed people were (still are) with this boy’s way of appreciating his father.

You don’t have to run around masked and armed with a bow and arrows to be a superhero, merely putting a smile on your loved ones’ face can do the trick, as this boy has proved! Rock on hero, and you deserve the praise.
