Eleven Tips to Motivate You to Push Yourself at the Gym

Exercising is an essential routine to keep your body fit and healthy. This is ideally the best thing that you can do to maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, most of us can barely even feel the intensity of the workout because of feeling tired or lack of energy and motivation. This is primarily the reason why people fail when they’re at the gym and don’t get the results they want.
If you are this type of person, then there are specific changes that you need to do to achieve your goals. Here are tips to motivate you to push yourself at the gym:
Set a goal on what you want to accomplish for your body
This will help you set your body goal. The best way to do this is to visualize yourself with the body that you want.
Set a plan for your workout
If possible, take the time needed for each workout to be set at a minimum so that you will be able to exert more effort. You will be thankful during your time at the gym if you can finish your entire workout in one session.
Eliminate all sorts of distractions
Some common examples include gym talk, mobile phones, tablets, etc. The best way to eliminate these distractions is to put on your headphones and put your mindset on the task at hand.
Boost your exercises by listening to music to get you pumped
Study shows that people who listen to music while working out can finish each exercise without getting distracted in between. If the beat of the music is at a fast pace, then inevitably, your body will flow along that tune.
Rest between sets to recharge for the next one
Most gym-goers rest too much that they lose the rhythm of their workout. If possible, use a stopwatch or have someone remind you that it’s time to lift the weights again.
Have a gym partner
Your gym partner will also help you enjoy your workout more because you have someone willing to train by your side.
Make working out fun
When working out seems to be a little too much for you and feel exhausted, you can play a game in between. For instance, you can pretend that you are in a race trying to get to a “prize.” Now select an object that is a far distance, and you have to run or jog or do brisk walking until you reach that location. You can also think that you are climbing the world’s highest mountain when you are running and that you are so close to reaching its peak and the hard part will very soon pass.
Find a mantra to motivate you
This may sound cliche, but really, mantras can help you get past any challenge that will block your way. A mantra can help you keep going even when things are tough. Make sure to choose a mantra that is believable, achievable and something that you can relate to.
Try something new
Don’t just do the exercise routine that you have been doing for a year, no wonder you lose interest! Adding some variety to your workout regimen can be exciting and encouraging to you, this way, you will have something new to look forward to.
Condition your thoughts
Running or jogging can be an excellent time for you to think about things that might be bothering you. You can gather your thoughts, solve problems, think about life, and everything else while you are exercising. You can even make the most significant life decisions while you are on the treadmill. Just remember not to phase out too much, make sure that you are also still aware of what’s happening around you.
Visualize the results
This might be the most effective motivation and inspiration of all time. Imagine how great you are going to look and how healthy you will be if you keep on doing your exercise regimen. This will keep you motivated.
Most of all, the key is slowly but surely. Don’t rush yourself. Take your time to figure out the schedule and routines that work best for you. And in the end, you’ll be looking forward to your time at the gym.
