Mental health is definitely a huge issue nowadays, however, not everyone is actually willing to talk about their own mental health issues. It seems like people, especially men, are just uncomfortable talking about their own issues compared to talking about other people’s, which is why millions of people are suffering from it and some of them don’t even realize it until it’s too late. It doesn’t really matter how old you may be, what kind of lifestyle you have or even how much money you have in your bank account. Anyone can suffer from mental health issues, in fact, one of the greatest rappers of today, Jay-Z, is encouraging people to get help especially if they know they need it the most. JAY-Z ON MENTAL HEALTH

People usually think that if you have all the fame and fortune in the world, you wouldn’t need to worry about anything. Money seems to make the world go round, but this is the thought of low-middle class society, because this is way too far from what people in the high society feels. Yes, they are famous, they have tons of money, they could go anywhere they want to to, they could have everything they want, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that they are happy all the time, after all, they are people just like everyone else. Jay-Z is not just known to be one of the greatest rapper in the world, he is also known to be Beyonce’s husband, because of his success with family and career, no one would ever think that he would be suffering from an emotional and mental issue.

The 47-year-old rapper actually revealed that he has indeed been seeing a therapist and he personally thinks that it has helped his emotional growth. He also mentioned how his therapist made him understand some aspects of his pain and suffering since and it literally helped him open his mind about things which is why he is recommending people to seek help.

In an interview with New York Times, he admitted that his chart-topping song 4:44 is very therapeutic, he didn’t confirm no deny that it was literally about him being unfaithful to his wife, Beyoncé, but he admitted that it is indeed therapy for him and he said he had a couple of sessions that definitely helped him get through everything.

This is definitely influential since the male population of the world feels as if they are too manly to have these kind of problem and that it seem like it would decrease their manliness if they admit to themselves that they need professional help.

WHY MEN IGNORE THEIR MENTAL HEALTH

No one is exempted when it comes to mental illnesses, most men are actually in denial when it comes to these things obviously because they are afraid that it might reduce their masculinity. Being strong and brave is something that a man is normally described as which is why they tend to ignore all the signs of mental illness. Aside from Jay-Z, other male celebrities have admitted to have suffered different kinds of mental illnesses and they are indeed such a good influence for admitting that since it gives other men out there a wider perspective with the fact that it is definitely okay to address these things and to actually accept and acknowledge their mental issues.
