Are You Building a Home Gym? Here Is The Bare Minimum Equipment You Need to Build One!
What can be better than going to a gym? Well, going for your gym that you can build right at home. How easy will it be if you can saunter into the next room and start pumping the weight? You can look the way you want and not get bothered about the stares all around you, that’s the major pro of having your own gym.
Not to forget you can crank up the music to your heart’s content and play your favorite playlist without anyone complaining. But the point is, most often we feel it would be extremely costly to build up a proper gym and involve too much money and space. However, that’s not the case, you need just a few types of equipment and you will get your own gym easily.
Mini Looped Resistance Bands
Resistance bands can be one of the most versatile pieces of fitness equipment that you can buy. Resistance bands can impact your entire body and can help you mimic the most hard-core moves of the gym. Buy bands that involve varying levels of resistance. You can either choose a lighter or a heavier one, according to your current strength. Resistance band exercises are particularly great for the hip region of the body.
Jump Rope
Jumping rope is easily one of the best workouts to sneak in a great cardiovascular exercise. It may amp up your heart rate quickly and get you to work on your arms, shoulders, legs, and core. Jump ropes may be super small, but a great option for people who have limited storage space or anyone who travels a lot. Sometimes, you may have grumpy neighbors who may complain about your jumping shenanigans, but if you really want, jumping can actually be a great exercise. You can do it anywhere you want.
Heavy Kettlebell
A kettlebell may happen to be one of the most efficient workout tools you can try. Some of the moves, such as the swings and thrusters, need a heavyweight such as a kettlebell. Also, you can perform a number of exercises with just a heavy kettlebell. It is great for a number of moves such as squats, deadlifts, and overhead presses. You need just to do a 20-minute full-body workout with a kettlebell and you would be done for the day.
Yoga Mat
A yoga mat is essential, especially if you have hard floors. A yoga mat can be your go-to for at-home exercise. You can roll up a basic yoga mat anywhere. Try finding one that can match your decor so when you roll it out, it would be a great option to gel with the ambiance at home.
Light Dumbbells
There are a lot of times when you may want to challenge yourself and add to the resistance such as putting a three-pound dumbbell in between your knees, especially if you want to do donkey kicks, or add some extra meat to your triceps. All of these require exercises with the right dumbbells. If you are trying to build muscular endurance primarily with your lifting exercises, you can include low-weight and high-rep exercises.
Heavy Dumbbells
If you prefer dumbbells over a kettlebell, or you may want both for different exercises, you may need to add heavyweight dumbbells to your arsenal to work on building strength. Most heavier weights are best used for the lower body. In fact, it can work your lower body more than upper-body work, so you can switch between two types of workout options, lightweight and heavyweight.
The best options are adjustable dumbbells. In fact, it is a great way to save space and get a large range of weight options. This way you won’t have to invest in too many dumbbells all at once. All you need are adjustable dumbbells and you’ll be able to include a number of exercises in varying strengths.
There you go, you don’t need any types of equipment to fulfill your dreams of building up a home gym. Waking up each day and going to your home gym can often turn out to be one of the best decisions ever. Since if you are investing in your fitness, you are investing in your health, and what could be more important than that?
