Stuart Townsend -Viggo Mortensen – ‘Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Just before the filming of the first film in this iconic trilogy commenced, Peter Jackson was quite sure about his decision to cast Stuart Townsend as King Aragorn. However, four days after the camera started rolling, Peter decided to strike off Stuart from the cast since he thought that the latter was way too young to be fit for the character.

Now, this decision didn’t go down well with Stuart and it was pretty obvious for him to get offended. After he had trained for the character for three months in New Zealand. Post that, he did not receive any payment as well, as he didn’t shoot for long enough.

It was a rough patch for the actor. Viggo Mortensen went on to replace him as King Aragorn and received widespread acclamation.
