Chris Farley -Mike Meyers – ‘Shrek’

Shrek, the adorable green ogre, has been a darling of your hearts right? The lion’s share of the credit should go to Mark Meyers for taking Shrek to an altogether new level and transforming it into an iconic figure.

The Shrek franchise has earned billions of dollars over the years. But before Meyers, it was Chris Farley, who was the first choice to star in the franchise. It might surprise you to know that Farley had completed almost 90% of the dialogues in the film before he suddenly left for his heavenly abode in 1997.

The makers were in a state of shock but quickly decided to bring Meyers on board. Meyers’ comic sensibilities were different from that of Farley. Therefore, the whole character was again written from scratch.
